Matt Hughes is a true champion in many ways. He defends his title and in a way most dont, he doesnt do it and talk crap or act worse to get back at those who do. But he is not only a true champion in the octogon he is in his own life too. He stands up for what he believes in and knows God is number one, he doesnt let anyone change his mind or fear what people will think of him as a fighter because of it. So all in all he is a loyal and true champion with everything that he has done and helped. He doesnt let fighting contol his person life with his family or farming, hes the type that has his goals and knows his priorities and fights just as hard as ever.

Most guys in UFC fade in and out and have their 5 minutes of fame. Mat is a 10 times UFC welterweight champ. He ended an era in UFC by defeating Brazilian Jiu Jitsu champ Royce Gracie. That is why he is a true champion.

Matt Hughes is a true champ because not only is he respectful in defeat, he looks at the sport respectfully, trains hard, helps others, and knows that the fans feeding off of him is what keeps him with a job. Not to mention he can balance family and fighting which is great!
