Affliction and UFC Welterweight Champion, Georges St. Pierre has teamed up to release the “Warshield” tee. Showcasing Georges’ new logo on a shield made of two powerful birds, the tee flows in the vein of the new direction Affliction is taking to simplify their tee designs. St. Pierre wore this tee during his entrance to UFC 111 when he fought against Dan Hardy in a championship bout on March 27, 2010.

Teaming up with Randy Couture, Affliction issues a new minimal design signature series tee to commemorate  Couture’s February 6th, 2010 fight against Mark Coleman. Both legends in the sport, Couture is looking to continue his winning streak and put him back on the path of once again becoming Champion of the UFC. The Warbird’s clean front prominently showcases the Affliction logo/text and the back the infamous upside down Fleur de Lis representing Affliction’s rebel lifestyle. At UFC 105 this upcoming weekend, Brandon Vera will look for his third straight victory in the UFC’s light heavyweight division, when he takes on UFC Hall of Famer, Randy Couture. This will be Couture’s first fight at 205 lbs. in nearly 4 years, and the outcome of this match could lead to a future title fight for the winner. In anticipation of his fight with Couture, Affliction has released a signature tee for Vera. The front of the shirt features the Affliction name along with Vera’s nickname, ‘The Truth’. On the back are the Affliction name, along with Vera’s, and a design replicating a similar tattoo that Vera has on his back. Written in the Filipino writing system, Alibata, it reads mundo (earth), hangin (wind), apoy (fire), and tubig (water).

At UFC 105 this upcoming weekend, Randy Couture will once again headline the main event of a UFC card, this time however this time he will be doing so in the UK for the first time. Couture will be returning to the UFC’s light heavyweight division to take on another former heavyweight, Brandon Vera. With the event less then a week away, Affliction has released a signature Randy Couture t-shirt. Similar to many of their other signature tees, this shirt features the Affliction name and Couture’s nickname “The Natural” on the front, with Affliction and Couture’s name printed on the back.

Georges St. Pierre may have no future opponents currently lined up, but that hasn’t stopped Affliction from releasing another signature shirt to a quickly growing line of GSP tees. The new t-shirt is printed on a black distressed cotton tee, and features the Affliction name on the top of the shirt on both the front and back, while St. Pierre’s name and nickname are written across the bottom of the front and back of the shirt. As with most of Affliction’s t-shirts, the new GSP tee has a war crest design on both the front and back.

We were wrong in saying that Brandon Vera was due to walkout with the Jaco Philippines walkout tee but at the last minute switched his game up and became the proof that shows Affliction clothing is allowed once again in the UFC. Now that they have put their promotion days behind them, Affliction will focus all of its energy on its high-end apparel business. Already a recognizable brand in most MMA venues, Affliction will once again try and establish itself as a premier brand within the most influential organization – the UFC. Georges St. Pierre was one of the fighters who originally partnered with Affliction prior to them entering the fight promotion side of the business. Now that it is no longer “banned” inside the octagon, Afflcition has released this GSP Justice Signature Series Tee. The charcoal lava wash t-shirt is 100% cotton and features the Affliction name on the front and St. Pierre’s name on the back. Along with blue eagle wings prominently displayed on the front and back are several silver foil accents.

In a story first reported by Yahoo Sports, Affliction Entertainment has not only canceled next Saturday’s event but has also ceased all promotional activities. The story has subsequently been confirmed by numerous sources, and apparently a deal is to quickly fall in place that will see Affliction become a brand sponsor of its rival promotion, the UFC.

To say it has been a crazy week for Affliction would be a massive understatement. In a period of three days, they have gone from losing one of their main event fighters to a failed drug test, scrambling to find a replacement, canceling the entire card, ceasing all promotional activities, and now apparently reaching a deal with the UFC – which has hinted at planning a press conference next Friday where this will no doubt be a major conversation piece.  Furthermore, this leaves us with a few more unanswered questions, what happens to all of the fighters under contract, and what happens to all of those Affliction Trilogy t-shirts??
